The first write up I saw was against the M, Boxster, and one more, I forget which car, anyways. The S2000 won all around. Personally I would buy the M or Boxster over the S2000, if money was no object. I sure as hell wouldn't compare the new M3 to the S2000, not sure how the conversation turned that way. I've driven the S2000 though, and it's one hell of a ride.

Maybe we are spoiled this side of the pond, but no magazine has even compared the S2000 to a std Boxster let alone the S. All the journos complain about lack of torque and driveability on the twisty stuff. It hardly sets the world on fire performance figure wise.

Its not a badge thing either as the Accord & Integra Type R have always been rated highly.

The S2000 always competes against the Lotus Elise and loses. I love the looks of the S2000, but its not an ideal everday car. I'll stay waiting for the M3
