A few questions by a new M3 Convertible waiter... (archive)

I put down a $1000 refundable deposit on a new M3 Convertible yesterday, so the waiting game begins. This is nothing new to me, as I have a Mercedes CLK430 Cabriolet, and the waiting on those cars is terribly long, now at over 18 months in most places.

I've got a few questions:

1) My dealership tells me to expect the M3 Convertible to come in at about $55-60,000? Does that sound about right?

2) Re colors: What is wrong with BMW? I know that color choices are subjective, but why so few (and such questionable) selections? I do not want to offend anyone here, but I personally would not buy the car in white (too boring), silver (everyone will opt for that color and I enjoy being different), black (too hard to keep clean), green (no way), or imola red (don't like that shade of red). Guess that leaves me either Laguna Seca Blue or Phoenix Yellow. At least they are different.

3) What is the timeline on the arrival of the first M3 Convertibles? I am #8 on the list, and am trying to figure out when I'll need the $$$.

Thanks!
