carbon content. This was instituted 2 years ago. I had a 97 Z3 and when I switched to a 98 328i it had different pads. I enquired and that was what i was told. that would explain why BMWs appear worse than others. Wash and wax every week.

Other than that you could go to a different pad.

I've used Performance Friction Zs which are a street/track pad and good in the winter. they feel softer at first but do not fad and are more progressive rathe than that first jerky bite.

they also dust at only about 10% compared to stock. So it's easy to clean once a week - just wipe.

I switch to PZ 90s for the track.
