You obviously didn't bother to search the archive for your question. If you had, you'd have found several posters here have been in a Vette lately, some of the regulars here even own them.

But no, you're too good to hit the "search" button, or maybe you've got problems using a mouse, so I'll have to provide you with a stupid answer myself. Don't bother telling us where your other hand has been.

- personally, I don't think there is any comparison. One has room for 4 people and their luggage, the other only two. If this isn't a concern for you, then go buy a vette, instead of wasting your time here trying to convince people they don't need the extra room they want.

- every day drivability. M3s well suited to every day driving to work (extra room for others)or long trips (room for gear, comfort) and driving in all seasons (snow, ice), or mountain conditions where weather may change around every corner.

- Fiberglass. Not everyone likes it, just like not everyone likes Saturn or Fiery poly panels. Some people prefer metal. How radical!

- Luxury. I don't care for all the fluff BMW offers but some people do. Regardless, Chevy interiors are junk, including Vette, and for that reason alone I would consider any other car.

If it were only about performance at a price, people could do a lot better than Z06. Why would I sit on ANOTHER wait list and pay almost as much as the M3 for a Z06 when I could just get a Firebird ram-air with upgrades that performs the same or better? Before you start spewing crap about this being impossible you might want to review your motorola trans-am cup and Speedvision GT race results... Some of these cars are closer to stock than what many people run on the street. Fact is, its far more common and cost effecient for anyone involved with amateur racing to race an upgraded stang/firebird/camaro than try to do the same with a vette.

So, if build quality, reliability, fit/finish, and all weather driving, and space are not concerns for you, then go buy a vette, instead of wasting your time here trying to convince people they don't need these qualities in a car.
