I had an oportunity to take one for a spin around the track. DOes it have power? Sure. Handles nice. Sure. Can you track one without any modifications? Nope. 15 minutes into the session and it starts to overheat. Maybe just a bum car? Nope. There were several Z06's on the track and all had to pull in early because they begin to overheat while driving on the track. Any problems with the BMWs? Nope. How about Porsche? Nope. You can run those things all day at high revs and they just get faster. Too bad the Z06 can't do the same right out of the box. I won't say that the Z06 is a POS, because it is not, but they still have a lot af catching up to do if they want some staying power. COuld have just been a bad day at the track, but that has been my experience with them.
Given the Corvette Z06 clearly puts the Dodge Viper and Porsche Turbo into its sights in any given situation on the street or track. Even though this is BMW board,I think that it should be first a car lover board. To conclude, before the many BMW owers on this board bash the Corvette,I'D LIKE TO KNOW HOW MANY OF YOU DROVE A VETTE LATELY.

maybe the oil temp goes up 20 degrees. Everything at normal before the end of a cool down lap. No excuse if the Z06 can't handle a 20 minute driving school session. FOR SHAME.
