Don't know if anyone has tried to estimate the lease on the new M3 yet. I think that most will be very upset when they finally get theirs in and try to lease it out the showroom floor! I know that residuals and current interest rates have alot to do with the lease but I don't see the residuals being that much better on the M3 over any other BMW. The interest rates are pretty much here to stay as well. Maybe Greenspan will hack a 1/4 point off at most between now and next summer. To give you an example, X5 3.0 which has a slightly better residual than a 3 series, when optioned out to be around $47k will run you $1000 a month no money down for 24 months at 10k miles a year!

x5 3.0 at $47k no money down, 10k miles a year will be:

$1049 24 months
$875 36 months
$782 48 months

530i at $50k no money down, 10k miles a year, (which is a more realistic price of the new M3 lightly optioned) will be:

$1008 24 months
$867 36 months
$836 48 months

Ofcourse you have to add tax to these payments as well, some people pay 9% and higher!
Might be worthwhile to arrange lease/financing before hand with a third party as I am sure most dealers will not go to bat for you finding a better deal when they have 60 other people lined up to snatch it up. It will be "take it or leave it" attitude from most dealers!
