Transmission has always been an option, not a specic order. The only specific order factor is based upon chassis differences (coupe/sedan/cabrio). There is no different list for automatics vs. manuals, no different list for the Xi vs. the non-AWD, so it's likely SMG will be the same.

Dealers are likely taking separate deposits, which will be entered into queue with the rest of the "first avaialable M3" deposits once the SMG is announced. So if you're interested in SMG, i'd get on the list twice, once with a "first available M3" deposit, and second with a "this deposit is towards an SMG M3, don't put me in line until SMG is available".

You might get lucky with the first deposit, and have SMG available by the time your "first available" spot comes up for build.
