understeer from the factory. There is too much liability from a car that would be truly neutral because too many boy racers would swap ends on public roads. Porsche slmost had to abondon rear engine cars becuase of the oversteer, but won a few cases based on the "you bought a rear engine Porsche, you should have expected it" theory. In the case of a typical coupe, BMW would be exposed big time. However, tuning the understeer out should also be relatively easy. Anyone that can truly use a neutral car and gain some type of advantage from it will not have trouble finding packages to tune it out.
