I know I am going to get sceptical responses but I am going to post this story whether anybody believes it or not. I was sitting in a friends car,3.0 Litre German Spec M3,driving on a Sunday afternoon when we came up behind a brand new 3.4 litre 996. We were reluctant to chase him because we thought we would get the shit kicked out of us. We ended up neck and neck with him at a robot and we ended up kicking the shit out of him. First we thought he slipped a gear but we raced again and still he had no chance. Rolling start, wheel spinning and with 2 people in the car against one. But with a little credit to him his car only had 5000kms on the clock and my buddy's M3 was chipped disabling the rev limiter, but he claimed that he had an M3 at home(maybe trying to save face)and said it was quicker off the mark and he was hoping that the porsche would loosen up.

So to the 911s on the road beware and everybody waiting for the new M3 you have something to get excited about.
