I have 328i auto, but M3 is way faster plus i live in so cal so stick would become hassle after a while.

Have you EVER driven ANY stick bimmers? BMW's are geared pretty well for Southern Cal traffic. And yes, I drive my 5 speed M3 in Southern Cal traffic everyday with no problems.

1st gear will go to about 40mph, this is no Honda Civic, you don't have to shift to 2nd if the traffic is bad. If you want slushie equipped cars, there are plenty, just not M3.

How do I know? I converted two of my friends to stick drivers, well, actually, three now. One has an Audi, one has a 323, one has a 530. No problems.
