Anyway - if one can do 0-100 km/h in 5.1s (0-60 in 4.8s) then the first gear certainly does not lack or disappoint. The E36 M3 Euro engine is a low end torque monster... very difficult to improve this amazing machine. I had a M Roadster (Euro) for almost 3 years and was every day again impressed with it's low end power. But it was no 5.1s to 100 Km/h car ! Therefore, considering the high redline of the new engine, the 1st Gear (also low end) should be AT LEAST equal regarding performance and punch.

However, I will drive the new M3 myself within the next 3 weeks. I'll let you know what I think about the low end.
