You've not driven a drag auto or you'd know operates similar to SMG... you tell it when to shift, not the other way around.

This is my point. People choose to remain blind to the features of advanced performance automatics used in racing. If you show them one, they either a) assume it works like every other auto they've driven or b) complain it's too harsh compared to the auto's they've driven before.

I wouldn't just assume that the standard in an M5 is going to be the same as the standard in the 58 Dodge tow-truck I used to drive. So why do you insist on thinking a performance auto is the same as some other auto you drove once before?
