I'm gonna clarify this one more time. BMW is claiming 4.8 to 60 AND 62MPH, which is a recent change. It seems they changed it after the famed tests in france, where auto journalists pulled 4.8 to 100KM/H in testing.

It would only help to clarify if you posted your (official) source. Everything official I have read so far, including the most current info on the BMW AG web site, says (direct quote):

Acceleration 0-100 km/h (s) 5.2

Even if there is indeed an official claim of 4.8 instead of 5.2 somewhere, I would say with a high degree of probability that it's a misprint. Taking actual performance test into account (5.1s by AMuS) and of cars with similar power/weight ratio (e.g M5 5.2s by AMuS and 5.3s claimed) and the fact that BMW factory claims are traditionally a little conservative, 4.8s to 62.5mph (100km/h) seems completely improbable IMO.
