Some of you wanted impressions so all I can give you is what I gather in the past day (mainly highway driving).
Steering for the most part is very precise, but it can be a bit vague at times... probably due to the 16" wheels, I'd like to try 17's soon if possible since there's a wee bit too much flex right now while cornering.
The engine is very smooth and deceptively fast. This is not a car that makes you feel, or sound like you're rapidly travelling. There is no push you back in your seat torque like the ///M's. However I find it very adequate and it'll definitely keep up with most faster cars. As you put it through the gears you find that the engine, albeit it doesn't have much torque, keeps pulling all the way to redline, a whooping 9,000RPM.
And then there's the transmission. AMAZING. This 6speed is the smoothest tranny I've ever used. It's extremely precise and smooth. I can't rave enough about it... if you have an opportunity to try a S2000, do it just to put it through it's gears.
Interior: I really like it... it's very glove like similar to the Z3 series. Quality is excellent, not too many peeves just yet. Seats provide very adequate support and the gauges are a dream... heck I love them on my RC, which is almost exactly the same.
Exterior. I really love the lines of this car, it's one reason why I choose it. Simple yet very aggressive looking. The Silverstone Metallic is a stunning silver, second only to Chrome Shadow IMHO. HID's light up where you going and a nicely done rear cluster tells people who past them.
Despite being out a year, every gas stop I made in 780miles drew comments from people. Anyways it'll take more time to get use to the car, maybe I'll spin it around Thundershill raceway this weekend. You have all the time in the world to perfect the M3 now BMW! =)
Congrats...Make sure you check out S2000 fan club site...a lot of good info...I think the titanium shifter is cool, I've purchased that...I'm putting different badges on mine and PIAA stealth driving lights...if you want OEM equipment for it, then check out partscheap.com which is a good S2000 site for options...1/2 the price of dealer on some stuff. Happy driving.
