Dealers realy do nothing aside from providing test drives for the money they make. They are a middle man layer of fat that serves no purpose other than to keep auto makers from having to build and manager distribution locations for their products.

This is one reason Ford is looking into buying up their dealers so they can offer cars at a lower price. I think this isn't a bad idea really.

I've never had a good dealer experience. I hate buying a new car but love having one. Dealers are pretty much worthless, especialy in smaller cities where there is almost always one BMW dealership and they have no local competition so they treat you like shit.
