just ask any 993 owner. Porsche owners have a long history of hating the next generation Porsche. The 996(tt) is faster, better handling, more comfortable than the 993(tt). The 996(tt) easily beats the 993(tt) on the Nuerburgring. The 993's advantage is in exhaust sound.
