Couple of points:
1) The US is very litigious place; it is much easier to sue a company here than in Europe or Canada, and the company has to spend money defending itself no matter how frivolous the the matter is; witness Audi "sudden acceleration" problem.
2) MSRP $46k was without even auto climate control or power seats, if they decide to offer them as standard price will be close to $50.
3) This guy have been right in the past with his delays info.
4) BMWNA has no credibility anymore, so nothing would surprise me at this point.

About a month ago, I told the board that the M3 would be SOP the first week in March. You might remember my post if you follow this board. I said you can check with rca, bruce and loki. I should not have said that and I am sorry. Many from this board have said "name your source, because we understand SOP was Feb".or "this guy is full of it". Hey, I don't like to bring the bad info but at least it is correct. I post only once, maybe twice a month if the info I have is worth posting. Well, I have current info and it is not the best.

BMW AG is still having some quality issues with the new M3. Although, the program for the tooling machine that was creating a part out of spec has been corrected, there is still quality issues with the M3. BMW AG is very aware of the US market's propensity to react to quailty issues. SOP has been put on a temporary hold till all issues can be corrected or at best, meet BMW's standard for quality in the US market. The M3 will come to America, but no new date of SOP will be given. Other markets will receive the M3. Production has started for other areas of the world.

Base price of the car has changed as well. I understand we ALL wish the auto rags were close and most of the time they are, but base price will be just under 50k. To some, this is a big deal, but to others, a 10k jump in price really isn't.
