I picked up the new Feb 2001 "Bimmer" magazine today and there are three interesting things in the M3 cover article that I thought I'd share....

"This powerplant has "instant classic" written all over it, and we can virtually guarantee that no one is going to be disappointed with the engine in the new M3."

(re: engine design) "....it's an exceedingly elegant arrangement. The only downside is that the M3's valve clearances are no longer self-adjusting; the new motor will require a valve adjustment....at an interval that's calculated by the ECU...best case scenario...as much as 25,000 miles."

"The BMW M engineers have addressed most of our complaints about the E46 3 series steering, and the result is very precise feedback through the wheel..."

Happy New Year, keep smiling, and don't believe the rumors!
