Has anyone considered that the primary reason for not including a V-8 motor might just be the cost? I, for one, think the new M3 is really just a tad too expensive (and heavy) as is. If adding a V-8 ups the MSRP I think you'd find the car knocking on the M5's door pricewise, and you would significantly reduce the potential sales numbers...
