I love it. The BMW rep feels we should be "happy" to get the car at the US price at all, while for the same money it's being shipped with all options, trims, colors, etc to the rest of the civilized world including his own Germany...

Oh yes, we're certainly asking too much when we want to have the OPTION to order these things for the same cost as he charges in Germany. I must apologise for being such an unreasonable customer.

But hey - at least the factory knows of some of the issues, even if they have a lousy attitude about it.
