It somewhat boggles my mind that the trim thing is a supplier issue.

They claim some little Italian firm is just not able to make enough metal trim bits to get them to the US market.

But they've known for what, three YEARS that they would be shipping a few thousand M3's this way - I would think with that kind of advance warning you'd be ready with the right capacity at the trim plant...

They may indeed have a supply problem with the trim, but it's interesting that it only affects the US market - for example Canada is getting as much trim as they like, and indeed it appears likely that even us poor US folks can go to our parts counter and order the stuff aftermarket style. So I still think this moaning and groaning about two Italian guys working night and day to brush the trim in some garage in Italy is just a cover story for the fact that BMWNA was just too lazy to list this trim as an option in the US.
