I love the "willing to go to battle with BMWNA" part of the ordering process.

I'd have more sympathy for the BMW reps position if it wasn't for the cars headed to Canada just a few miles to the north with more standard equipment at a lower price and with pretty much ALL options available to buyers without them and their dealers needing to arm wrestle BMW of Canada to make it happen.

With that as an example, how does anything in his story hold water?

I'm fine with the US price, and I'm not asking for anything at all to be added to the base car. I simply want access to the same options as everyone else in the world and I will most certainly _pay_ for those options that I choose. How on earth does allowing the import of options that are already being produced at the factory add to the cost of the car?
