Already have a 98M. Going to wait a year or two longer for more color choices and SMG before getting E46. So now I have a dilemma. Should I..

1) Just give up my spot.
2) Sell my spot. (seems cheeseballish)
3) Order the car, drive it home, then sell the car itself at a very reasonable markup.

I WAS smart enough to get myself on the list early last year. I guess time will tell if, at #8 (which at my dealer will put me 8 months out after SOP) the car will still be worth over MSRP.

And don't flame me for wanting to take a profit. Believe me, there are plenty of very wealthy people here in Dallas who don't care what shit costs. What would you do?

In practical terms, it's the least trouble for you - no hassle, no guilt, no negotiating, no fuss.

Do you really need the few thou you might or might not be able to wrangle in what you admit to be a cheeseball maneuver? If so, well, do what you need to do and I'd say nothing against you. But if not, if money just isn't that crucial to you, why pass up the chance to do a VERY cool thing, win admiration from the likes of us (and the enthusiast who gets his car earlier without paying some big extra premium), and most of all feel good about it yourself for the rest of your automotive enthusiast days?

Just a thought, no flame intended whatever you decide...
