If rational people were running BMWNA, you would expect a roll-out plan that closely follows SMG availability in Europre, and pricing along the same lines, which would put it somewhere in the $3000 to $6000 range based on prior versions of SMG in various countries converted to US currency.

Just out of curiosity, what countries paid anywhere close to a $6000 premium for the SMG I option? I've seen "solid" numbers for SMG II from South Africa and (I think) Germany. They were more in the $3300 to $2900 range if I remember correctly. And it sounds like some places are getting it on par with the manually tranny cost.

I've been quite excited about the prospect of getting SMG II in the US, but I won't pay anywhere near $6000 to get it, especially when other parts of the world are getting it for about half of that amount. I'm expecting the US market cost to be right around $3000.
