you can get tires whith wheel protectors. I have a set of Bridgestone SO-2 pole position's with my BBS RK wheels and I have not had any scrapes. On some certain high performance tires there is an additional strip of rubber at the sidewall where the tire meets the wheel. I believe that the M3's Michelin Pilot Sport's do have this feature.
