If you want the car for weekend drives and to go out to dinner in you'd be better off spending more money up front and not spending the money AND TIME to fix up a "less" expensive car. If you're not a DIYer, buy a decent driver, enjoy it from day one and sell it when you're tired of it. They can be dependable cars if you buy smart.
