Bob's comment about finding rust on EVERY car is true, assuming the car gets used. I'm sure there's show cars that are parked in controlled climates and have been cleaned with a Q-tip, but any car driven on any road has rust on it. Even brand new cars sitting at a dealership. Altho, rust on CS's should never be ignored because of their inherent problems. My '49 Chevy pickup has rust on it, but its probably been there for 30 years and still isn't a concern.Dan

your Chevy pick-up has a frame and some body rust will not compromise the structural integrity of teh chassis.
The e9 depend upon a strong, but corrosion-fragile, formed sheet metal monocoque construction that appears to encourage rust right in the areas that are supposed to provide most of the chassis rigidity (the corners near the jack points that are the suspension pick-up points).
That makes careful selection of a prospective purchase especially important.
