I think you got a great buy!
I am a bit of a Bimmer-nut and am in the process of completely going through my 3.0CS here in Yelm (30 min from Olympia), so drop me a line. I've got a lift if you need to get under the car and a great parts source if you need it.

Bob,
Thanks for the reply. I definetly will need some local parts sources but know of CS registry and MESA performance in Costa Mesa specializes in the coupe and sedans. The only known parts I need are a driver side mirror and possible some window switches. The owner wasn't specific how many. It's my understanding that there are two types, five pin and six pin. I'll await the car before ordering those but will be ordering two side mirrors (to be consistent). I'll be looking to refinish the front seats down the road also.
My first bimmer was a 69 2800cs when I was younger and with much less wisdom. This will be my fifth and look forward to this classic. My wife wondered why I'd go from an M3 to a 3.0 and I told her the M3 was my 40th birthday crisis car and this is for fun.
I'll let you know how it turns out when I recieve the car. If there any rally's or am in the area I will drop by. I'm actually in Bothell but no one knows where it is so I just say Seattle.
Best to you,
Graham
