Interesting thread for a visitor from the E24 board! Sounds to me like you have a great car Larry.

I too would like an E9, but I think Bob has hit the nail on the head by suggesting keeping the E24 for a while even after E9 purchase to gauge the differences for one's own needs. Trouble is, its hard to afford more than one ocasional use car. Sure gets me thinking when I see a group of E9 coupes together at a rally though.... they are just so cool.

I can sure relate to the E24 electrical problems up the wazoo! The Electrical Troubleshooting Manual (ETM) for your model year is essential as aspirin for this problem. Haven't had problems with the essential systems on my car though; just the anoyance of the various sub-systems acting up. I try to consider it a hobby!
