I think your points are well taken. The TR-6 (or any TR, MG, or Austin Healey, for that matter) will always be easy to sell for a decent price because they are all cool-looking convertibles, and everybody likes a cool-looking convertible. Sure they are mechanically as crude as a stone axe, but that's why so many still exist. Anyone with the most basic mechanical knowledge can keep one running. A BMW coupe is a much more enthusiast-specific car, and requires much greater mechanical aptitude (and money) to maintain correctly. While I love my BMWs, on a warm sunny day, there is no car that I enjoy driving more than my TR-6 with the top down.
