Hmm... the VDO's sound good. It would still be nice to know if something is messed up in the origional instrument itself or a sender, so I think I'll take it apart this weekend and see if there's anything obvious there. But basically, I could order a new instrument from these people and not worry about it. Thanks, -Andrey
