I have a '72 CSi with black front grill inserts and black side grills but chrome hood grills. I thought someone decided to chrome the hood grills. Maybe that was just what they pulled out of the bin when my car went by.

Yes, my '72 has black vertical trim in the kidneys, but ALL of the grilles (side and top) were chromed! Strange, but typical at the same time.

I understand all replacements from BMW are now black-no chrome available.
