Several years ago I owned a 76 2002a. In an embarassing situation, a pal of mine nearly got the 2 of us arrested (or worse) when laughing at a state police officer's trouble in attempting to close the trunk lid after a lengthy search. I had not related this story to much other than my pal's blatant ignorance until recently. In York Maine, about a month ago I attended a coupe show. Representing the E9 family were a total of 6 cars. By the end of the day I had observed that not one of the coupe owners was ever able to close his or her trunk lid on the first attempt. Whether the car was unrestored, tattered, or pristine, the trunk lids just did not like to close. What gives?
