He has a 3.0 CS that has some rust, none structural he assures me, and we are negotiating a restoration to show quality with bare metal paint job, all new interior trim and new leather seats, perhaps recaros or something...i've seen the pics on his website http://209.15.39.63/biz/mrglasscar/product.html
but would really appreciate any feeback if someone has dealt with him before...
what do you all think about practically rebuilding a car vs finding one in very good original condition...you ought to know that i plan on installing a Metric Mechanics 3.8 or 4.0 L engine, new drivetrain with 5sp OD, upgraded suspension and brakes etc...he says he can deliver the car without engine or transmission for about 10,000. Does this sound right?
thanks for your help.

An e9, stripped to bare metal, finished to show car standards, with all new steel welded in anywhere there is any rust, reassembled with new leather interior would be the buy of the century at $10K, especially seeing that one can buy a decent used engine and tranny for $1500.
A show quality paint job with NO metal work can easily run $%-$10K alone!
