After reading this forum for over 6mos, I am feeling very lucky indeed. I have a 72 3.0CSA with 30,000 original miles, no rust, and everyone who sees the car remarks that it still smells new. It actually does. Never seen snow, very little rain, and always garaged in a dry climate. Problem is, it is an automatic. Now my dilemma. I would really like to change it to a 5 speed. How difficult is this, and would it be sacrilegious. I am torn between keeping original and making modifications that improve driveability and performance. Those in the know please advise. It has recently seen 132MPH according to the speedo, and there was just a little left at 6500 rpm.

That sounds like a unique and wonderful car. If indeed it has 30,000 original documented miles and it is as new it would be a shame to switch the car to a 5speed and bastardize the car's originality. If you plan to drive and enjoy the car and put alot of miles onit, I would change the car to a 5 speed it is not that difficult or expensive. Probably the best thing to do is to either keep this bad boy as a show stopper and collectible and buy a driver with a 5speed. Congaratulations sounds like a great car!!
