Mike,

The fan & fan clutch upgrade is one of the easiest and best fixes you can do on the coupe. I upgraded mine this summer and have never come close to the red zone since, even sitting in stop-and-go traffic for over an hour.

Just replace the water pump with a new one (you can order from Maximillian Importing for $39). Apparently the water pumps fail every few years so this is routine maintainence. I have not heard of an upgrade.

I replaced my OEM 5-blade setup with a 9-blade fan & fan clutch from a 528. The 8-blade setup from a 75-78 530i should also work. I bought the fan & clutch setup for $100 from Dale Phelps, who is often found on the cscoupe and senior six mailing lists. I just picked up a 528 parts car for the transmission and fuel injection; the engine is apart and in the trunk, so I dont know if the fan setup is available but I will check if you are interested. I also have a fan & clutch from a 530i.

Anything else you want to know, email me: pelco67@yahoo.com

Hi I need to know what to up date these componets to. I think the fan clutch is off of a 7 series has any one done this ?? thanks for your response in advance MIKE
