Hmmm, tricky. I've never removed the rear window motor/sprocket/arm assembly (only done the doors) so I dont know whether it can be easily removed from the car with the window in the up position. If you loosen the 10mm bolts holding the whole mechanism to the bodywork you'll get an idea how easily you could get the whole thing out. I would imagine it's jammed where the small toothed wheel on the backside of the gearbox meshes with the teeth on the large sprocket. Unfortunately that's facing away from you as you sit in the car, so you can't see it. I think you might have to take the whole mechanism out of the cavity to see. If it still seems jammed, then you need to detach the little gearbox itself (3 screws). I can't believe there's anything jammed inside the gearbox - the worm from the motor is steel, and the gearbox cog-wheel has plastic teeth - any problem and the motor's power just strips the plastic teeth (which have worn). In that case you'd hear the motor running, but the window wouldn't move.
I think you might have to remove the whole assembly. I'll bet if you can see the back - where the gearbox cog meets the sprocket wheel teeth, that's where your problem is. I guess you should also make sure all the appropriate window travel guides are lubricated, and there's nothing obviously physically impeding the window from moving...

good luck
Graeme
