Mine is a right-hand-drive 3.0CS, chassis 2230308, which according to the CS registry pages was no. 308 of the first RHD series. Now when I was dismantling the wooden dash top some 10 years ago, I found a inked stamp marking on the back reading '16 Dec 1971'. And I think some mechanical parts have a little circled '71' on them as well. Question - how long did it take Karmann to screw together a CS? Was mine built in 71, or was it just the sub-assemblies built in December and the car actually 'built' in 1972. And what of the 307 preceding cars. Surely some of them were made in 71?

regards,
Graeme
