1973 3.0cs starting problem (archive)

Just last week I started having problems starting my car, you can hear the solinoid click but the starter does not engage. The battery is OK and all connections are clean and tight.
Today it failed to start 2 times (had to push and started by poping the clutch) once it arrived home back in the garage it started 3 times without failing. (Knows it safety zone)

Could it be the solinoid?
Is there a way to test the solinoid without removing it from the car?.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.
