Seldom is rust on these cars "obvious" until it has progressed a bit.

Do have it looked at by someone who has poked about a bit on e9 cars and has possibly gotten screwed himself on one. He will know where to look, as hindsight is always 20/20.

I have lots of pictures of sheetmetal repairs on these cars or can tell you where to look if you're interested. This board is a good source of information, BTW.

$8900 is not out of line for a very nice original IMHO. Personally I'd rather buy an unmolested original than an undocumented (no pictures) "restoration."

I'm looking at a CSi for sale, asking $8900, in the NYC area. Looks to be in good shape, velour, low miles,
original paint, and no obvious rust. The car is
a good driver, and would be eventually restored
with leather seats and the like.

If this is a good deal, or a bad deal, please fill me
in. If there's something out there that has this work
already done that's for sale for a similar price, I'll
be interested.
