Like you - I enjoy a good autopsy on old BMW parts. ;-) I have learned that especially on our old cars (mine happen to be a pair of 02s - but I work on a few bavarias and a 73 CS at my other jobs) ...that Genuine BMW bul;bs just seem to work better - I couldn't begin to tell you why - but errant dash indicator lights (that sometimes don't flash with signal operation) have been cured from the simple install. of BMW bulbs - go figure.

An easy stop by the dealer for all the 5w, 12w, 21w and dual filament bulbs is well worth it.
