Thank you. It's getting there.

I am blessed with a nice work area and the tools to do the job, so I did do it myself. Figuring the money tied up in the shop with the lift, the spray booth with $ in compressors and spray guns, etc., I could have paid to have the job done cheaper, but I wanted to have the personal frustration of doing it myself.

Seriously, I have about 100 hours in cutting and welding sheet metal (This was on what started out as a very rust free car from desert New Mexico, by the way. Fortunately there was no structural rust at all.), plus the painting and reassembly (The car looked pretty sad with the hood/trunk/doors off and the glass out.). I wanted to ensure that NO bad metal remained on the car, so took my time to do it right.

I was fortunate in that the P.O. had just spent almost $9K on rebuilding the mechanicals so I was spared that (except that I replaced the new Schrick 304 deg cam with a new OEM one for less high strung temperment), and that the interior was exceptionally clean to begin with.

I paid $7K for the car and at normal shop rates, I figure that the work done should be worth about $8-9K "on the outside" if one paid a shop to have it done.

When it is completed, I'll post a shot here. You guys have kept my courage and enthusiasm up when I was getting tired, and I appreciate it.

Unfortunately, I won't get to keep the car very long since I sustained a career ending injury and will be selling most of my car collection*, but I want to drive it a bit to CCA events this spring.
