I used to own a 71 2800CSA (automatic). I felt the transmission seriously effected the performance of the car. It shifted out of 1st far to early generally made the car feel rather sluggish. In the end I grew tired of this and sold the car. Thinking now, I should have converted it to either a 80's 5-series automatic or a 5-speed. A friend had the same model and his was the same. I've unfortunately never driver one with a modern automatic or 5-speed so I can't say really what the improvement would be.

I have started to get the coupe itch (I seem to get it every 5-`0 years, but have never pulled the trigger).

How would the acceleration on a 1973 3.0CSi w/auto?
(I have an '88 535isa now for reference)

Are sunroof cars worse for rust? (I heard that years ago, but not sure if it is true).

What tire sizes fit well on the stock 5 spoke alloys?
