hi there,

on a '72 US model, the arms should be a matte silver. on a 1972 euro car, the arms were shiny (whether they were polished of actually chromed, i don't know.)

and yes, the driver side has a small spoiler on it, similar to a 2002.

'73 3.0CS (US model)

I was in the process of refinishing the windshield wiper arms on my '72 3.0CS and noticed that they looked polished under the obviously sprayed-on (from a spray can) black paint.

Were the arms on the '72 satin black from the factory, satin finish stainless steel, or were they polished? I know earlier ones were chome plated, but these do NOT have chrome on them.

Also, there are two small (about 3/32")drilled holes about 4 inches apart in one of the arms. Did it originally have a wind deflector plate like the 6 Series or did someone substitute another model's wiper arms on my car?

The portion that pushes over the spined drive shaft is NOT round, but rather rounded-rectangular, which I don't remember seeing before. Thanks,

Bob
