I am new to this board (I have an e32 735i)looking for the nicest 3.0CS ('72 or '73 only) I can find.
It should have no rust at all (recent restoration) with good paint, and should have a good leather interior (some patina is acceptable, but no cracking, tears, hard leather, or bad seams), and a new or newly rebuilt engine and suspension. A sunroof would be nice, but it shouyld also have decent air conditioning and a nice stereo.
Naturally, I would like receipts for all work done, and I am not interested in cars repaired after wrecks.
I can pay top dollar for a really primo car (up to $10,000 cash), but naturally would like to pay as little as possible.
Could someone point me to the car I am looking for? I am willing to travel to find a really nice one. Please-no junk. I am not looking for a Concours car, but it must be REALLY nice.

I was searching for a CSi only so was extremely fortunate to find one locally that I could carefully survey myself. I also had a fund in the bank to do upgrades and maintenance to bring the car up to the level I wished, about a 3-footer. In about two years I will be doing a complete body/paint restoration which will include full disassembly and repairs to the areas that require it. I purchased the car in a condition that would allow me to drive it for several years without worry of dangerous rusting of critical structures. Roughly, my total investment at the end of three years of ownership will be about $30,000.00 including car, mechanical components, wheels, and body/paint. The good part is that this will be spread over a number of years and I can do most if not all of the mechanical work myself.
