"...these cars are either seriously rotted (though admittedly the degree of seriousness may vary) OR they are not..."

BTW, i think everyone on this message board hates seeing E9's go to the crusher.

i mentioned that quote earlier because there's a pattern of people posting messages that say: "hi. i really love the lines of the 3.0CS and want to find a rust-free car that just needs a little TLC..."

it's the opinion of buckley that rust-free, unrestored cars don't exist.

but hey, that's one man's opinion.

from martin buckley's book, "BMW: the classic 6-cylinder coupe":

"...in my opinion there is no such thing as a BMW coupe in average or "not bad" condition. these cars are either seriously rotted (though admittedly the degree of seriousness may vary) of they are not... there is no point in buying a rotten coupe cheaply for restoration because the costs incurred would massively outweigh any increase in the value of the finished product."

If borderline coupes are crushed then the potential benifit of numbers (as seen in the chevy and ford restoration market) will be diminished. I applaud, encourage wish to aid all who rescue coupes.
