Phil, please be aware that most of us are not here to ridicule you. It's just that every few months, a fellow comes along to this board not knowing what buying and maintaining one these vehicles really involve. To give you an idea, read the post below and all of the followups. I highly recommend reading the entire archive before you make a purchase. At the very least, do a specific Search for terms like "paint", "rust", "restoration", etc.

As far as that "essentially rebuilt CS" is concerned, if the owner did not provide all documentation on what was done to it (including receipts and photos), then you did well by walking away. There is no fine line between restoration and refurbishment.

And I'm reminded of a billboard that once said: "He who dies with the most toys...is still dead."
