These need to be replaced , have anyone tried to do this according to procedure and tools in repair manual, with the carrier still in place?
did you manage?
i tried to replace the bushes in the wishbone acc to manual, but i couldnt get them all the way thru, when i released pressure, they came creeping out again!!!!! i ended up in a hydraulic press today. i am afraid the same thing will happen with the big bushes in the axle carrier, and then h-------l is loose.

Here's an article from the Firstfives Registry web site. They have a very good FAQ page, and much of the E12 information applies to our cars. Although the bushing in the article isn't the same one you worked with, it's close.
