Try driving your Coupe into a dealer parking lot someday. Most of the sales staff won't even know what it is.

the way BMW treats the owners of its older models is a disgrace. not only are what few parts they make of shoddy quality, but they actually have the nerve to CHARGE people to dig up production records for their cars!

mercedes does the opposite -- they treat us like we're customers. they will still send owners a photocopy of the data card that shows how a m-b left the factory, indicating everything from a full tank of gas, point of delivery, make of tires and actual DAY of production. they're not just being nice either -- it's damn good business.

i think the lesson is to treat your customers like they own something valuable and not disposable. the renowned brand loyalty of m-b owners suggests that people like us would be inclined to buy another BMW in the future if they did.
