I see, I am trying to eliminate the need to have seatbelts for the front seats coming from the rear seats. What I was suggesting is mounting the E28 rear belts in the rear of the car, and having them come out of the parcel shelf like the E34. This would take care of the rear. As for the front I was looking into doing something like the E31 with the seatbelt attached to the seat frame itself. Then I am going to upgrade the seat mounting points and hopefully have something really nice, but I am still working on it so I am not sure how it will turn out. The rear is looking promising, but remember I am in school right now so I have not seen the car for 2 months. I hope to be able to get back with it in a week and a half. My modification work is never finished;-)Rob

Bill, too - is entirely correct. The retractor hides behind the rear seat - passes between the armrest and the rear side panel, and then (optional) hangs from a pivot where a small hole must be drilled smack dab in the middle of the rear side wood (OUCH - yes - but safer than a home brew installation I'd think). I know ole' Bill knows his stuff - he's had his head under a few dozen different BMWs - but with seatbelts - I would step cautiously. Save the creativity for the motor! :-)
